Enamel... What is it?

Enamel... ah...it isn't finger nail polish or the paint we use on walls and miniature cars and airplanes. It IS vitreous enamel (glass) that has been ground down to a minute grain and then applied to pure metal..Copper, fine silver, or gold.

This piece is a dogwood created with many (30) layers of fine enamel applied to fine silver and then set.

First Steps

Today I just started this blog.

I have a lot to say and I have my fingers in many different art pots from weaving to creating enamel with fire.

This is a lotus flower enamel on fine silver mounted on a sterling silver back. It is a pin and the colors are amazing.
